Those are the most common.

Trust me, any gender you want. It's there.

Long story short, the only way you won't like any of the genres is if you don't like anime in general. But then again... if you don't like anime in general, why would you be talking in an anime thread besides to troll?

There are many different drawing styles as well.

But who knows, there are people who just don't like cartoons...thinking they are for children.

I also watch anime. My favs are cardcaptor sakura, excel saga, inuyasha and azumanga daioh (sp) I also have the anime channel provided from cable I haven't been recently watching anime recently.

I've never watched Azumanga! D:

If we're talking about romance/comedy types, I just love Lovely Complex .

Oh and hun, I just found out that Hiro Mizushima plays as one of the characters for the Lovely Complex Live Action. The Live Action is not as good as the anime but hey, Hiro is in it. He also stars in the Beck Live Action as Ryusuke. Things just got serious.
